I went to Saudi for trophies, not money – Mendy

Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has revealed that he joined Saudi side Al-Nassr for trophies, not money.

Speaking to reporters, Mendy said, “I wanted to challenge myself in a different league and country. Winning trophies is what drives me, not the financial aspect.”

The French international defender signed for Al-Nassr in the summer transfer window, after spending four years at Manchester City.

During his time at City, Mendy won multiple Premier League titles, FA Cups, and League Cups.

He expressed his excitement at the prospect of winning more trophies with his new club in Saudi Arabia.

“I have always been motivated by success and winning silverware. I believe Al-Nassr has the potential to achieve great things,” Mendy added.

Despite facing criticism for his move to the Middle East, Mendy remains focused on his goal of adding more trophies to his collection.

He concluded by saying, “Money comes and goes, but the memories of winning trophies last forever. That’s what matters most to me.”
